The Birthstone for March is the Aquamarine. Did you know that “Aquamarine” comes from “aqua marina” meaning “sea water”; it’s not hard to see why, by looking at the beautiful shades of blue found in an Aquamarine stone!

For centuries it has been used in all kinds of jewelry, from rings and necklaces to earrings. The brilliant color and subtle shades make it a favorite with modern jewelry designers.

Did you know it’s related to the Emerald? They are both members of the beryl family, making them “cousins”.

Aquamarines are mined primarily in Brazil, though there are sources in Mozambique, Africa. Bright color and shine, a hard surface that makes it more resistant to scratches and the variety of ways in which it is used in jewelry makes this stone a very popular gem!

We are pleased to have some gorgeous pieces for you to choose from, including this 14k white gold 10x8mm Emerald cut Aquamarine and 1.06ct Diamond ring.
